Registration closes at 6:00 pm the Friday before the first day of class.
Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday
EVENING SWIM (AGES 3 - 12):
PARENT / CHILD (AGES 6 MONTHS - 3 YEARS) & ADULT (AGES 13+):
Descriptions of each type of swim lesson are below.
Ages: 6 months - 3 years old and their parents
Description: A 30-minute class for children 6 months to 3 years and their parents. Classes meet twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for four weeks, eight lessons total. The primary objective is to get the child & parent comfortable in the water. The child will become aware of the difference between moving through water and on dry land, while the parent will become aware of how to teach the child to be safer in and around the water. Classes are designed to allow the child to have fun in the water while the parent guides them to learn aquatic skills. Children are exposed to games that use basic movements such as kicking, arm strokes, and breath control. Parents must accompany infants & toddlers in the water. All children must wear rubber pants with tight fitting elastic legs - no regular diapers, please.
Evening swim times: 5:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Summer swim times: 10:00 am and 5:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Ages: 3 - 12 years old
Description: Evening classes meet twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for four weeks, eight lessons total. Summer classes meet four times (typically Monday through Thursday with the exception of Memorial Day) a week for two weeks. Evening sessions are 30 minutes and summer swim lesson are 40 minutes. Youth swim lessons further develop the four YMCA swim lesson levels covering all the strokes, diving fundamentals, & safety skills. Our instructors make it fun to develop a lifelong appreciation for aquatic activities, which include not only swimming but also lifesaving, lifeguarding, and aquatic sports.
Evening swim times: 6:00 pm and 6:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Summer swim times:
Ages: 13 and up
Description: It's never too late to learn how to swim! If you fear the water, don't worry - we'll move slowly! Classes meet twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) for four weeks, eight lessons total. Lessons are 45 minutes each.
Evening & summer swim times: 7:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
