Trunk or Treat

Join us for our FIRST Trunk or Treat at the Y!

Thursday, October 25th from 6 pm to 7:30 pm

To promote a safe and fun environment for our children and families, the Athens YMCA is hosting a trick-or-treat alternative. Kids can trick-or-treat from trunk to trunk full of goodies! We need 60 cars to participate. Register starting September 10th!

We will have prizes for outstanding trunk decorations in the following categories:

  • Most Creative
  • Funniest
  • Local Business
  • Best School

Deadline for entry is Monday, October 15th!

Trunk or Treak Guidelines:

  • Car set-up time: 5 pm to 6 pm - all vehicles MUST be ready by 6 pm.
  • Location: Athens Y parking lot next to the pool.
  • Cost: There is no cost to participate. We hope to have both local businesses and schools participating. There will be prizes and bragging rights awarded in the above categories. 
  • Registration: Registration will take place September 10 through October 15, or until 60 spaces are accounted for. Particpants must register with jacqueline@athensymca.org. Once they let her know, she will send a guidelines sheet and additional information.
  • Our goal is to have 60 cars participate! Each parking space will be numbered 1-60. You will be assigned a number once you register. You must park in your assigned space.
  • Ticket: Each child will have a ticket numbered 1-60. Mark off your number once they come through your area. Each child should go through one time.
  • Candy: All cars are responsible for having enough individually wrapped candy or trinkets for at least 500 participants. No homemade goodies.
  • In the event of rain, we will have the event! Please bring a folding table with you in case the event is moved insite to the gym.
  • No participating vehicle can be left unattended.
  • No participating vehicle can leave the lot before 7:45 pm.
  • Everyone is responsible for cleaning up their own area.
  • No electricity is available.
  • No pets.
  • Alcohol and tobacco free event.
  • Children 13 and under can participate.
  • Costumes are STRONGLY encouraged.
  • No scary or violent decorations.
  • The Y will have face paint, a blow up slide, and concessions.
