Summer 2020 Operational Procedures
Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:45 pm
June 1st - July 31st
All staff members will be fever screened before their shift begins. Camp will follow CDC guidelines and temperature checks.
All staff will be provided with the appropriate PPE.
All staff will be trained in safety and sanitary procedures as outlined by the Redwood Insurance Company, American Camping Association, CDC and American Red Cross.
All campers and staff will wash their hands every 60 minutes.
There will be outdoor handwashing stations or sanitizing stations in all program areas.
Visitors and tours will not be allowed throughout the summer.
All hydrating stations will be monitored by a staff member and cleaned frequently.
Door handles will be sanitized every 60 minutes.
Restrooms will be cleaned by YMCA housekeeping staff every 60 minutes.
All YMCA spaces will be deep cleaned at night by a contracted company.
All YMCA spaces will be cleaned with an EPA Covid-19 chemical (Diamond Disinfectant 1000 DSV) each night.
Microphones and musical equipment will be wiped down after every use.
All camp equipment will be sanitized after use.
Campers will swim one time per day in small groups.
All campers must bring a lunch and snacks with them to camp. All items must be in a sealed lunch bag.
Staff will always wear gloves while helping to open items from lunch boxes.
Hand sanitizer in all camp lunch areas.
Hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes will be available at each table.
All sessions will have a nurse (RN, LPN) available at all times.
Check in will be between 8:15 am and 9:30 am ONLY. No camper can check in past 9:30 am.
To assist with social distancing, specific age groups will check in between specific times.
Parents must always remain in their car.
Staff members will fever screen each camper at their car. If a child's temperature is higher than 100.4 degrees, they will be sent home. They cannot return to camp until they are fever and fever medication free for 72 hours.
Campers must be picked up from camp between 4:30 pm and 5:45 pm.
To assist with social distancing, specific age groups will check out between specific times.
No parents will be allowed to exit their vehicle while picking up their child.
A staff member will walk each camper to the car and perform a fever screen before they enter the car.
We will not accept call ahead pick up requests or written notice for early pickups. Any parent needing to pick up their child before 4:30 pm must come to the YMCA and wait for their child to come from their designated group.
